This year for the first time, we will participate in the Hash Code 2021, the challenge proposed by Google and inspired by real problems that engineers face in the Silicon Valley every day.

Hash Code is the challenge annually proposed by Google, that brings together developers from all over the world, who team up and participate in the challenge jointly.

Once formed, teams can come together to share this special event with other people who are passionate about the same things.

What is a Hub?

Communities that want to participate in the challenge can open their own Hub: virtual places where teams can meet, train, discuss, and prepare themselves as best as possible to face the challenge.
Every year, organizations, companies, universities, and other groups open their Hubs. This year at Mia-Platform we have decided to open ours.

Participating virtually with a Hub adds more fun and excitement to the competition and is a great way to network virtually with new people”, say the organizers of the Hash Code 2021.
At Mia-Platform we want to fully grasp this spirit, organizing moments to exchange knowledge, train, share, and much more.

What will we do at Mia-Platform Hub?

We took up the challenge because we think that the Hash Code fully reflects our culture, because we want to get involved and do it together with the community we belong to.
Hash Code 2021 is an opportunity to virtually open the doors of Mia-Platform and allow everyone to train together, learn, get to know some of the best developers in Italy, and, above all, code together!

This is why, in preparation for the challenge, we will involve all the teams of our Hub in a public Kata, one of the most used and appreciated methods of continuous improvement by Mia-Platform developers.

The Kata will be held on February 20th at 3pm and you can subscribe at this link.

A Kata is a programming exercise that helps to improve skills through practice and repetition (we talked about it here).
At Mia-Platform we have adopted the Agile approach and periodically we organize kata to allow developers to take time to improve, learn, and practice new things.

For years now, the people who organize kata at Mia-Platform have been experimenting with new exercises and methods, and this time we want to bring this type of practice into the Hash Code world. A publicly open kata will take place, to allow everyone to train with exercises from Hash Code past editions.

And then?

By entering Mia-Platform Hub, you can immediately start chatting with our developers to exchange tips, best practices, and contribute to organizing exercises and training moments for Hash Code 2021. Share this event with passionate and knowledgeable developers.
